2012 MAZDA MX-5 ROADSTER KURO EDITION - BBR STAGE THREE TURBO - 2.5 LITRE 350BHP+

2012 MAZDA MX-5 ROADSTER KURO EDITION - BBR STAGE THREE TURBO - 2.5 LITRE 350BHP+

One of but a handful of cars built to BBR Turbo Stage 3 specification. There is simply not a better example of a 350BHP plus Mazda MX-5 NC!

Just a handful of select clients have gone further than our Stage Two 300BHP Turbo conversion, and this is probably the very best example. This vehicle was converted to BBR Stage Two Turbo specification for the original owner and then purchased from us by an existing long-standing Stage Two turbo client. The client (soon to be 2nd owner) whilst loving his Stage Two wanted more!

At just 23’000 miles we removed the engine, installed a brand new 2.5 as well as flowing the cylinder head and fully rebuilding it to allow a staggering 375BHP! The mechanical changes and tasteful modifications carried out to this stunning MX-5 are far too extensive to list, we’ll let our client who commissioned the build sum up this one-of-a-kind Mazda MX-5 NC:

“I've been meaning to give you some feedback for a while, so here it is.

This is the most brilliant car I have ever owned. It's probably the most enjoyable thing I have ever owned, after 5 months it still makes me smile every time I drive it. It works perfectly as a daily driver as well as an incredibly quick sports car. The handling is way beyond any MX-5 (and anything else, come to think of it) I have driven; it stays flat and composed whatever you throw it at. Its performance is stunning, however you drive it. Being lazy with the gears, all that torque at modest revs makes it feel like it has a big six-cylinder engine; drive it as it should be driven and it's a beast, but still a very well behaved one.

You've created the ultimate MX-5, every modification enhances the original car, taking nothing away from its character. Most cars are a compromise, you like some things, but not others, or you like it for one type of use, but not another. It works perfectly under every driving condition (well, not snow, but I'll forgive it that). It might not suit everyone, but I can't fault it.

Thank you for all your hard work on this project, I know it wasn't easy. I am more than happy to provide a reference and/or case study for any of your potential customers. As well as the car itself, my story as a BBR customer demonstrates the relationship that someone can have with you, incrementally working towards one like mine in stages, enjoying each one along the way.”

BBR enhancements alone exceeding a total cost of £20,000 inclusive. We had sold this briefly to a new owner but due to hip problems and required operation the vehicle has now be returned. Now fully undersealed with rust protection, new Sparco alloys and Michelin Pilot Sports!
